Passwords & Password Protection

Just because you have a password does not ensure that someone will not crack that code.  Simple passwords are uncovered everyday because they can easily be cracked using a "dictionary attack" software tool, which tries words and combinations of letters until the password is assembled. To protect yourself you must use an effective password. Test the strength of your password here

According to Microsoft, an effective password is at least seven characters long and contains a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Find out how to create a strong password. Click Here

Your User Passwords
In Windows XP you can change user passwords by pressing Control-Alt-Delete at the same time and choosing “Change Password”.  If you do not know your password then right click on 'my computer' and select 'manage.' Then double click on 'local users and groups' then 'users.' Right click on each user and select 'set password.'
